The Professional Development Manager is responsible for assessment of staff training and coaching needs at a project based level for all clinical and non-clinical employees as required by the Company. Candidate will facilitate training programs in accordance with established quality and other job performance metrics. In addition, Manager will supervise and provide leadership to the Authorized Response Team for employees and clients.  This team provides additional coaching as needed for employees, responds to any clinical related questions from employees and any client questions or concerns regarding clinical coding

This position will direct and develop multi-level projects to improve and support business goals and critical business strategies. This position will report directly to the Director of Professional Development in the US with a dotted line to the Sr. Director, Clinical Operations, Manila.

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses training/coaching needs on a project by project basis;
  • Develops training materials and facilitates training sessions; 
  • Works with the designated team for system updates and readiness to accommodate project needs;
  • Remains current on medical coding and billing guidelines and auditing protocols;
  • Abides by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by the American Health Information Management Association and adheres to official coding guidelines;
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned;
  • Participates in testing and training as required by the Company;
  • Travel is required for training, based on project to project need

  • Degree in Nursing with active nursing license preferred
  • Certification as either a CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H, CCC or CRN-C required
  • At least three years’ experience as a risk adjustment coder required;
  • Proven experience in project management;
  • Demonstrated effective leadership in managerial roles
  • Extensive knowledge of medical billing and payment methodologies, including coding guidelines for ICD-9 (demonstrated understanding of CMS HCC Risk Adjustment coding and data validation requirements preferred);
  • Strong organizational ability to manage projects with tight timelines;
  • Proficient phone system and computer skills, including MS Windows, email and internet; ability to learn additional applications as necessary;
  • Ability to assess and implement training and in-service needs and to provide consultation and arrange/facilitate training sessions;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with professionals, especially physicians, and all levels of management
